Ivan Belostenac (1594-1675) was also a member of the Ozalj literary-linguistic circle, Croatian linguist and lexicographer, and the first prior of the Pauline monastery in Svetice. His life's work was a great, encyclopaedic Illyrian-Latin and Latin-Illyrian three-dialect dictionary, “Gazophylacium”. With a scientific dedication and poetic inspiration he was collecting the treasure of Croatian linguistic diversity for decades, saving it in his treasury. He collected around 40,000 words on 2,000 pages of text. The link to Ozalj city library and reading-room Ivan Belostenac provides virtual browsing of this magnificent dictionary.
